One day, as we ran it
What your day looks like.
This is one day we actually ran, hour by hour — not a set route, and not your itinerary. There isn't one until we build it: each day is shaped around what you're curious about before you arrive, and your guide keeps reshaping it street by street. Shorter days trim it, longer ones linger.
Early morning
Tsukiji, while it's still working.
Breakfast at a standing counter in the outer market's back row — ten seats, no English menu, your guide orders and you point at what looks good.

ten seats behind the market, the first orders going in Mid-morning
Senso-ji, before the coaches.
Through the great gate while the shops are still opening — the quiet hour of Tokyo's oldest temple, then Asakusa's backstreets while they still belong to the neighbourhood.

Nakamise running to the gate, the whole town around it Midday
Kappabashi, the kitchen town.
The street where Tokyo's restaurants buy their knives. Pick one up, feel the difference, and hear why the good ones cost what they do — nothing here is staged for visitors.

the town that sets Tokyo's tables, floor to ceiling Early afternoon
Yanaka, old Tokyo at walking pace.
The neighbourhood the buses don't know — temple lanes, senbei baked by the same families for generations, and time to wander without a list.

the lane past the temple wall, nobody hurrying Late afternoon
Nezu Shrine's torii tunnel.
A corridor of small vermilion gates most visitors never find, and a shrine courtyard where the city goes quiet.

vermilion gates over the koi pond Dusk
Shibuya, from the right corner.
The crossing seen from where it makes sense — then six seats at a counter your guide can call ahead to, dinner already in your name.

“We had an absolute blast on our walking tour of Tokyo with Yuko! From the moment she met us right on time at 9:00 AM for our hotel pickup, her communication before and after the tour was seamless and thoughtful. Our itinerary covered incredible highlights—Sensō-ji Temple, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and the iconic Shibuya Scramble Crossing—and Yuko made every step engaging. She shared rich historical insights, patiently answered all of our questions about navigating the Tokyo Metro, and gave us invaluable tips on local etiquette. She even taught us useful Japanese phrases and explained the best time and place to use them! What truly set Yuko apart was how genuinely caring and hospitable she was—by the end of the day, she felt like a family friend. When the tour ended, since we were taking the same train line, she went out of her way to accompany us through the Metro to make sure we made it back smoothly toward our hotel. She even encouraged us to call or message her if we had any questions later in our trip. If you are visiting Tokyo, do not hesitate to book a tour with Yuko. She made our trip unforgettable!”

“This was our first time ever in Japan. We decided to start our trip with a private day tour. We quickly bonded with our tourguide,Hina, over… FOOD. Our day trip quickly turned into a food trip. Having Hina as a tour guide with her enthusiasm as a foodie was amazing. Not only did we get to see a lot of different places. Most (if not all) came with a food recommendation. While it was not all about food (we had just enough history and temple/shrine etiquette in between) we could not be happier with how our first day in Japan went. Hina also provided us MANY recommendations for the rest of our trip, even outside of Tokyo according to our itinerary. Hina has set the bar high for any upcoming tours we will go on :-)”

“Rika is the best guide ever. She is so friendly, funny, kind, and easy to talk to. We had the best day with her — we learnt so much and saw so much. Rika is very easy going and incredibly knowledgeable and the whole day felt relaxed and fun. Even after the tour she has continued to be so helpful, sending us places and areas to visit during our stay. I really enjoyed hanging out with Rika, and seeing Tokyo with her as the guide. I would highly reccomend her to anyone visiting ❤️”

Who you'll be with
One of ours, start to finish.
Your day is led by one of the team — matched to your date and what you're into, a local who does this work because handing people their Japan is the part they love. You'll have their name and their number the moment your day is confirmed, and from first hello to goodbye they're yours alone: one guide, your people only, nobody else joining.
One price, all of you
What the day covers.
- Your guide, start to finish — your people only, nobody else joining.
- One price for everyone with you — quoted for who's coming and how long your day runs.
- The day planned around you before you arrive, and re-planned on the day if you want it to be.
- Entry to the temples and shrines on your route — those tickets are on us.
And what stays with you.
- Food and drink, and tickets beyond the temples and shrines — museums, galleries, attractions. You pay at the counter and at the door, at what they cost — nothing goes through us and nothing is marked up.
- Trains and taxis on the day — your guide plans every route; the fares go on your own IC card.
- Hotels, flights and transfers stay yours to book — though we will happily tell you where we would stay.
Good to know
Where we meet
Your hotel lobby, or anywhere in the city that suits you better — you tell us where when you book your day.
How many can come
See how many this day takes, above. More of you than that? Just tell us. We shape the day for it and quote it for everyone coming.
What if it rains
Rain doesn't cancel the day — Tokyo has a great deal to do indoors, and your guide knows all of it. If genuinely severe weather makes the day impossible, we move it or refund it in full — decided with you, on the forecast.
How you pay
A single day is paid in full when you book — and nothing is owed on the day itself. Booking several days? Those confirm with a deposit, settled before you travel.
The other days
Any of them can be the first draft of something else.
